Pastoral Surveillance Bulletin: December 2018-JANUARY 2019

Highlights:

  • Pasture resources noted as sufficient at most sentinel sites;
  • Very poor anomaly in accessibility to surface water over a large part of the agro-sylvo-pastoral zone;
  • Average concentration of livestock in the regions of Saint-Louis, Matam and Tambacounda;
  • Early arrival of Mauritanian herds in the Saint-Louis region;
  • Early arrival of livestock in the south of the Ferlo agropastoral zone;
  • Good condition for small and large ruminants;
  • Reporting of numerous cases of large bushfires;
  • TDE always favorable to breeders.
