Multi-sectoral surveillance bulletin on the regions of Timbuktu and Taoudénni in Mali – April-May 2024

  • Relative calm in phytosanitary conditions in the regions of Timbuktu and Taoudenni
  • State of exundated pastures judged poor in Timbuktu and very poor in Taoudénni
  • End of the bourgou harvest with production considered good to average in the Timbuktu region
  • Relatively calm epizootic situation in both regions
  • The condition of the herds was considered fair in Timbuktu and poor in Taoudenni.
  • Animal watering conditions average to poor in Timbuktu and fair in Taoudenni
  • Increase observed in the price of rice
  • 7,736 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Timbuktu and 8,894 in Taoudenni
  • 60,203 people in acute food insecurity (6% of the population) in Timbuktu and 14,020 (22% of the population) in Taoudénni according to the latest report of the harmonized framework for the period from March to May 2024
