Mauritanie Pastoral Monitoring Bulletin of Mauritania – December 2025 – January 2026 11/03/2026 Suspension of cross-border mobility related to transhumance between Mauritania and Mali for security reasons High concentrations of livestock in monitored pastoral areas Sufficient availability of pastoral resources in the monitoring sites, despite recurring bushfires The animals were in generally satisfactory body condition, with suspected cases of vitamin deficiencies and animal diseases (foot-and-mouth disease, PPR, pasteurellosis). National livestock vaccination campaign underway Terms of the goat/sorghum exchange favorable to agropastoral households in Hodh Chargui and Guidimakha TDE unfavorable to Brakna and Gorgol The continued arrival of refugees in Hodh Chargui is increasing the pressure on local resources and services.
